MD TP7b: Comprehensive understanding of IC-induced signaling in neurophils

The key contribution of Fc gamma receptors expressed by neutrophils to autoantibody-induced tissue damage (blistering) in experimental models of autoimmune bullous dermatoses (AIBD) has been well documented (Trends Mol Med, 2013). The importance for blister formation in experimental EBA of the release of effector molecules from activated neutrophils has also been well documented. Events linking Fc gamma receptor initiated activation and mediator release from neutrophils are however far from being completely understood. Therefore this project aims to investigate these events in detail.

Here we will investigate the signaling events in neutrophils induced by different IgG-immune complexes. The work will mainly focus on in vitro techniques.
