MP TP5: Evaluation of "standard" medication for EBA

The treatment of EBA patients relies on clinical experience only. No controlled clinical trials have been performed so far, and due to the low incidence of the disease completion of respective trials is not expected in the near future. However, there is a great medical need to select the best therapy for patients suffering from EBA.

Hence, we will here focus on evaluating the therapeutic effects of "standard" EBA treatments, such as corticosteroids, dapson and others in immunization-induced EBA.

The results of this trial may help to select appropriate therapeutics for EBA patients in the future, and may also be the basis for a generating protocolls for a perspective clinical trial.

The outbred mouse line used for this study unexpectedly lost it's susceptibility to EBA induction. We are therefore testing several additional outbred mouse lines to pursue this project.
